As we do each year about this time, we have traveled to South Carolina to celebrate our own December occasions -- Floyd's birthday and our anniversary among them. The trip helps to keep them from getting lost in the pre-Christmas busy-ness. We started with a trip to Nashville and the newly re-decorated Opryland Hotel. The thousands of twinkly lights and masses of flowers help set the holiday mood. Not to mention the superb Italian dinner sitting on the most comfortable restaurant chairs I have ever experienced. The next morning we were off to the Tennessee School for the Blind, where the students put on a concert for the Lions of the state. Each year our clubs donate to provide checks for each child so that they can purchase Christmas presents for their families. Helping to present those checks is a highlight of the season. Then, newly inspired by the music, we were on our way to Madison, Georgia, for another night of champagne and rose-petal tinged luxury. And by Saturday we arrived here at our time-share condo. It's been rainy and foggy for a couple of days, but it's glorious and beautiful this morning. Here's a look at what we see when we get up:
