1. I'm taking down the Order Form page. Some of you may find that slightly inconvenient, but the truth is that you were paying more if you ordered a book directly from me and I was making less. I had to purchase the books from the publisher and pay to have them shipped here. Then I had to pay to send them on to you and pay a small fee to PayPal for each transaction. I had tried to keep the total price down to a reasonable level, but there's no way I can compete with the pricing policies of an Amazon or B&N. Further, all those sales from my website did not count when the various compilers of "Best-Seller" lists looked at my total sales. Bottom line: all my book listings now have links to the appropriate Amazon site, where you can get the best bargain price. And if you have a personal crusade against the Amazon business plan, you can probably find the book elsewhere just by typing my name into the B&N, Apple, or Smashwords catalog. 2. I'm trying to add more readers' comments to each of my books, so that you can get some idea of the book's quality before you hit the Amazon "buy" page. I do this with some hesitation because of the current controversy over "sock-puppet" reviews from paid sources or appearing under the author's pseudonyms. About all I can do is reassure you that I have never paid for a review, nor faked one, nor cited one without attribution, nor encouraged my family and close friends to paper the Amazon book pages with ridiculous faked paeons to my brilliance. 3. I'm adding more illustrations to the book pages to try to give you a better visual understanding of the settings of my novels. So . . . I'm still building. Patience, my friends. Things will be working correctly soon. |
